From the National Music Centre: “Recently, the Government of Alberta announced a three-stage relaunch strategy with the first stage starting as early as May 14 if criteria related to infection numbers, hospitalization, and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) occupancy remains low. You can read more about Alberta’s relaunch strategy here.
Museums such as Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, are included in Stage One of relaunch, and will be clear to open if our organization feels it is prudent to do so. However, after much consideration, NMC leadership has decided that May 14 is too soon to reopen Studio Bell.
Our three main considerations for reopening are:
-
Can we ensure the highest level of safety for our visitors, staff, and volunteers?
-
Can we ensure a first-rate experience for our visitors while continuing to follow the State of Local Emergency and the guidelines set out by Alberta Health Services (ie. physical distancing of two meters per person and gatherings of 15 people or less)
-
Will our audience be ready to re-engage in public activities and return to Studio Bell?”
