“The app, described as a digital wallet, will enable tickets to be added directly to an individual’s phone, and they will only be activated when the ticket holder has a low-risk status. This is achieved either by taking a Covid-19 test or by self-certification, with venues dictating the requirements for their individual events.
…The app means that venues can also register customers, as well as receive anonymised analytic insights into who is buying tickets, such as the age and gender of audience members.
… The app’s creation is one of a number of developments within the theatre sector intended to help venues reopen in a Covid-safe way. Last month, composer and impresario Andrew Lloyd Webber held the first test event for the return of large-scale theatre at the London Palladium, with audience members receiving temperature checks and the auditorium fogged with anti-viral chemicals.”
